Deem Albassam

IInnovation Machine Partner, is one of Saudi’s rising entrepreneurs – passionate about her dreams of building a startup nation. Deem is the founder of Switch Restaurant, which has given her the chance to practice her solid knowledge in retail management, marketing and design. Prior to Switch, she worked in the family business as a Market Developer for Albassam Groups in Dubai.

Deem was one of the key members of Saudi Aramco’s Keystone, and she attended the Harvard Idea Translation Program. She is a graduate of the American University of Dubai with a B.A. degree in Business Administration/Marketing. She has also completed the Business Leadership Program at Columbia University in New York, USA.

As one of the organizers of the first Startup Weekend Dubai (October 2011), Deem was attracted to the event because of its results-driven format. She believes that in order to build an ecosystem for entrepreneurs in the region, such events must become a habit.

Khansa'a Abunaji

An MBA graphic designer and branding expert based in Riyadh, with 10 years of experience in creating and designing brands locally and globally. Her client base includes a diverse array of organizations. Her work has been published in top design books such as the "brand elements" and her blog is one of the most visited design blogs in Arab world. She is passionate about design and branding and she has found the first Arabic hub for designers "Azyan".

Muna Alamer

Muna Alamer is the Co-Founder of Naqaa Sustainability Solutions. She is a young entrepreneur with keen interest in sustainable development, women empowerment and social activism

Rafah Al Khatib

Rafah has 17 years of experience in technology and management fields, where she worked for international consulting firms as well as in senior management positions at local companies. She is a serial entrepreneur who started several projects and startups in Saudi Arabia. Since 2008, her main focus has been social media; she established Reach Holdings Ltd, an agency for managing social media presence and offering social media marketing in the Saudi market. In January 2010, she launched 3eesho.com , a social network that provides support, information and ongoing advice to users to increase health awareness about obesity, diabetes and the problems resulting from leading an inactive lifestyle. In February 2012, Rafah launched an interactive iPad magazine for 3eesho, the first of its kind in Arabic. Soon 3eesho will be launching a mobile application for food intake and calorie calculations. Reach has been selected as an Arabia500 winner in 2011 and 2012.

Sumaya Dabbagh

Sumaya Dabbagh is the founder of Dabbagh Architects. She is a Saudi architect educated in the UK with a diverse experience in architecture, interior design and project
management spanning over 20 years.

Following an education at Bath University, under the guidance of the late Peter Smithson and Sir Ted Happold, Dabbagh began her career in London and Paris in the early 90’s. Her return to the Gulf region in 1993 was part of a quest to gain a deeper understanding of her own identity, a unique mix of influences and sensitivity towards both western and middle eastern cultures.

Dabbagh has contributed to various publications on architecture and urban design and was an instrumental
part of the team who set up the RIBA Gulf chapter in 2009. She is currently an elected member of the Steering Committee for RIBA Gulf.

Through her work in architecture and design in the Gulf region, Dabbagh’s quest to bridge the cultural and gender gaps, continues.

Tuba Terekli

Tuba Terekli is the cofounder and CEO of Qotuf Al Riyadah Development Company – which works to formulate the entrepreneurial ecosystem within Saudi Arabia. Working with the various chambers, ministries, universities, accelerator programs, and venture capitals, she has used her global and local networks to help develop entrepreneurship and women empowerment. She is known as the “accelerator lady” in the entrepreneurship circles whereby she had addressed the lack of proper growth vehicles for innovative businesses and is currently establishing a unique accelerator program in Jeddah. Her business expertise was noted at Harvard by Professor Michael Porter when the company she for which she devised business plans was listed among the top 3 for Saudi Fast Growth 100 award two years in a row. She has become a known icon in the entrepreneurship circles as the ‘Entrepreneur of the Entrepreneurship Support Movement in KSA’. In addition to the accelerator, she is currently working on specialized programs for e-commerce, productive families, franchising, angel investment network and serves as the project director for the Global Entrepreneurship Week of KAUFFMAN foundation in Saudi Arabia. Tuba also founded the first female-managed healthcare consultancy in the region which had been awarded by National Arab US Chamber of Commerce as one of the region’s most promising projects.

She holds a Bachelor’s in Computer Science from Saudi Arabia, a Master’s in Business Administration from the UK and an Advanced Studies degree from the USA. She is also the cofounder and member of numerous local and international institutes. Being an active mother of four is her favorite past-time.
